Starting this Friday, June 10, and throughout the summer, a documentary film featuring members of the Silk Road Ensemble will be screening at theaters nationwide and in Canada.
The title of the film is The Music of Strangers. Morgan Neville, who won an Oscar a few years ago in the Best Feature Documentary category for a film titled 20 Feet From Stardom, is the director of this film.
Here’s the trailer if you’re interested:
I think it’s screening at a 100 or so theaters over the summer. Click here for the full list of theaters.
It officially opens in LA at the Landmark on Friday, June 10. It opens the same day in New York at the Angelika. I’ll be doing a Q&A with Morgan at the first two LA screenings on June 10 and 11 (screening starts at 7:40pm both nights).
For those of you with connections to UC Irvine, on next Friday, June 17, it’s scheduled to open at the Regal University Town Center 6 right across from campus. There’s a to-be-confirmed chance that I’ll do a Q&A on Monday, June 20 there as well.
I’d be personally delighted and touched if you and yours do have a chance to see the film. And, please feel free to spread the word!
Thanks again for reading this. Hope you’re well.
